Our agency is located in Northwest Pennsylvania and offers a wide variety of community based services including;   mental health, mental retardation, education and prevention services.  As a nonprofit agency established in 1984, The Guidance Center employs a staff of approximately 200.  Although the majority of services are based in McKean County, some specialized services extend into other neighboring communities.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

• Outpatient Counseling - Counseling and psychiatric care for adults and children/families.
• Wrap Around - Outreach treatment for children and families.
• Family Based Services - Home and community based family therapy program.
• School Based - Assessments, brief counseling and consultation to schools.
• Crisis Intervention - Twenty-four hour emergency intervention.

• Mental Health Casemanagement - Casework services for seriously mentally ill adults and children.
• Steps Drop In Center - Recreational and socialization facility.
• Personal Support Services - Home based supports.

MENTAL RETARDATION SERVICES

• Mental Retardation Casemanagement - Outreach casework services.
• Main Place - Recreational and socialization center.
• Personal Support Services - Home based supports.

EDUCATION AND PREVENTION SERVICES

• SCAN/PEP - Home based education for developmentally delayed children under three years.  Also provides speech, occupational and physical therapy.
• RAPPORT - Health education, prevention and counseling for pregnant and parenting women and their partners/families.
• Big Brothers Big Sisters - Matching adults with children needing stability and companionship.
• Family Centers - Family support and prevention programs through home visits and group activities.
• Parents As Teachers Program - Home based parenting program and playgroups.
