Our agency is located in Northwest Pennsylvania and offers a wide variety of community based services including;   mental health, mental retardation, education and prevention services.  As a nonprofit agency established in 1984, The Guidance Center employs a staff of approximately 200.  Although the majority of services are based in McKean County, some specialized services extend into other neighboring communities.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

Outpatient Counseling - Counseling and psychiatric care for adults and children/families.
Wrap Around - Outreach treatment for children and families.
Family Based Services - Home and community based family therapy program.
School Based - Assessments, brief counseling and consultation to schools.
Crisis Intervention - Twenty-four hour emergency intervention.
Mental Health Casemanagement - Casework services for seriously mentally ill adults and children.
Steps Drop In Center - Recreational and socialization facility.
Personal Support Services - Home based supports.

MENTAL RETARDATION SERVICES

Mental Retardation Casemanagement - Outreach casework services.
Main Place - Recreational and socialization center.
Personal Support Services - Home based supports.

EDUCATION AND PREVENTION SERVICES

SCAN/PEP - Home based education for developmentally delayed children under three years.  Also provides speech, occupational and physical therapy.
RAPPORT - Health education, prevention and counseling for pregnant and parenting women and their partners/families.
Big Brothers Big Sisters - Matching adults with children needing stability and companionship.
Family Centers - Family support and prevention programs through home visits and group activities.
Parents As Teachers Program - Home based parenting program and playgroups.
